Herman & Kittle Properties, Inc. (HKP) is the successor to companies that have been around since 1948 in the form of Herman Associates, Inc. and Stanley Herman Homes. When Stanley Herman retired, his son, Tom Herman, continued the family tradition of working in real estate development. Tom led the company into new areas of growth. Under his watch, the company entered the self-storage industry, and saw a rapid expansion in both properties and team members.
Jeff Kittle joined the company in 1998 as a developer. In 2002, Jeff became co-owner and the company became Herman & Kittle Properties, Inc. (HKP). Together, Tom and Jeff grew the company from it’s Midwestern, affordable housing roots. The mid- to late- 2000s saw HKP develop a conventional multi-family product and add the Gulf Region to it’s footprint.
In late 2010, Tom Herman retired, making Jeff Kittle the President, CEO and sole owner of the HKP. Under Jeff Kittle’s leadership, HKP continues to pursue our mission of creating value through real estate.
The potential for our company lies within our team. We hire highly capable professionals to form strong partnerships, build high-quality apartment communities and self-storage facilities, and provide exceptional service.
HKP produces a top quality product through cross-functional work teams that focus on a property from start to finish. Team members specialize in development, acquisitions, finance, design, construction, management, compliance and marketing, providing all the services of a vertically integrated company.
As we build on our momentum, HKP is focusing on developing properties that are both socially responsible and financially successful. When real estate development is done well, positive outcomes such as job creation, increased economic growth, and the increased stabilization of families and communities will follow.
Our history attests to these beliefs and our future is bright as we continue our leadership role in both the multi-family and self-storage industries.
