New Community: Riverside Trail in Columbus, Ohio
Riverside Trail in Columbus, Ohio is expected to provide homes for about 750 men, women, and children once leased and stabilized. This new construction, Tax Exempt Bond Financed (through The Ohio Housing Finance Agency) community will consist of 248 affordable apartment homes with rents affordable for households with incomes at or below 60% of Area Median Income (AMI).
Riverside Trail will include 13 fully-accessible ADA units, and all first-floor homes will be adaptable and accessible for visitors with disabilities. All apartment units will feature an open floor plan, with vinyl plank flooring throughout and carpet in the bedrooms, along with a washer and dryer. The development will be built to the National Green Building Bronze Standard and will include a variety of amenities including a pool, a dog park, and an outdoor entertainment area with grills.
Riverside Trail will also feature covered bike storage open to all residents to use free of charge. Providing this amenity makes it easy for residents to take advantage of the property’s location adjacent to the Blacklick Creek Greenway Trail, which is a part of a huge Metropark system of trails and recreation in Columbus.
This is the 3rd HKP deal that has closed in the Columbus areaover the last couple years, and the 2nd bond deal. The development is financed with tax-exempt private activity bonds that have been purchased by Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust Company and First Merchants Bank.
